Wales latest: Jac Morgan nears injury return as Steve Tandy makes position clear on recall timeframe

Wales captain Jac Morgan appears to be nearing a return to fitness, with the back-rower spotted in Ospreys training ahead of their return to URC action next weekend.
The British and Irish Lions tourist, who was one of just two Welsh players named in Andy Farrell’s initial touring party, has been out of action since November with a dislocated shoulder, but appears to be somewhat ahead of schedule.
Morgan’s involvement with the Lions has limited him to just one club appearance this season, in what will be his final campaign with the region before heading to PREM Rugby with Gloucester alongside fellow Ospreys men Dewi Lake and Phil Cokanasiga, and his injury has also seen him miss 11 club matches as a result.
The flanker was injured in the act of scoring in Wales’ 52-28 defeat to Argentina during the Autumn Nations Series.

Morgan’s return to training came with the Ospreys crossing the Severn Bridge for an opposed training session with Bristol Bears, with the back-rower pictured on the club’s social media channels taking part in a live section.
This news will come as a welcome boost to the Ospreys ahead of their URC play-off push, with the region sitting ninth in the table ahead of next weekend’s full return and are just one point behind eighth-placed Bulls at the time of writing.
But, while his potential return to the field will be good news for the Ospreys, he has just missed out on Wales’ Six Nations campaign.

“He’s been around for some of the games,” Wales head coach Steve Tandy said of the flanker. “We knew he wasn’t going to be ready for this tournament, but he’s in great spirits.
“He’s behind the team and he’s been to the games. When he’s fit and ready, he’ll be back on the pitch.”
