It’s all to play for on Super Saturday in the 2026 Six Nations with a three-horse race for the title.

The final weekend of the Championship gets underway in Dublin with Ireland and Scotland squaring off, with both nations in the running for the title, and the victor will be holding their breath for what unfolds later in the day.

Cardiff is the next stop with Wales and Italy going toe-to-toe, the former looking to end a 15-match losing streak in the tournament and have an outside shot of avoiding the wooden spoon.

The action concludes at the stunning Stade de France, which will play host to Le Crunch as France and England face off.

The title permutations

Table toppers France will know precisely what is required of them before the first whistle in Paris. If Ireland defeat Scotland in the first game of the day, then a victory of any kind will seal the deal for Fabien Galthie and co who will defend their title. A draw in Dublin wins France the Championship if they get one more bonus point than Ireland, or Ireland beat Scotland by 63 points.

Galthie’s men essentially need to obtain one more league point than a victorious Scotland team to defend the Championship and if the French and Scots finish on the same number of league points, then Scotland will need to overcome a 58-point difference to win the Championship.

As for Ireland, they need a favour from England if they are to clinch the title, as a Les Bleus’ victory means that they cannot win the Six Nations.

If Le Crunch ends in a stalemate, any win over Scotland with one more bonus point means that France’s result wins the Championship for Andy Farrell’s men. A win with equal bonus points to France wins them the Championship if Scotland don’t get two losing bonus points, and Ireland overcome a 63-point points difference.

If England do beat France, any bonus point win secures the title for Ireland, whilst a non-point wins the Championship if neither Scotland nor France get two losing bonus points, and if tied with Les Bleus, Ireland overcomes the 63-point points difference deficit with France.

Wales could avoid the wooden spoon provided that they claim a bonus point win over Italy and a beaten England team don’t collect any bonus points and end with a lower points difference. It would be England’s lowest-ever finish in the tournament if that occurs.

England can only finish higher than their current ranking of fifth if Italy are beaten by Wales and Steve Borthwick’s men beat France.

Third is a possibility for Italy, provided that they claim a bonus point win over Wales, and that result is paired with an Irish defeat without any bonus points.
