The Red Roses will face Canada in a rematch of the 2025 Rugby World Cup Final as part of their three WXV Global Series Tests in September.

John Mitchell’s side beat Canada 33-13 in the showpiece final at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham, and will meet them for the first time since that day as part of their WXV Global Series fixtures later this year.

Elsewhere, the reigning world champions will also face Australia and the Black Ferns, with the Tests being played in three regions across the country.

The WXV Global Series features the best 18 Test sides in the Women’s game, with the top 12 then competing in a home-and-away, cross-regional touring model in a eight-week block between September and late-October this year.

The Red Roses, who won WXV 1 in 2023 and 2024, begin their Global Series with a Test against the Wallaroos at Sale Sharks’ CorpAcq Stadium on Saturday, 12th September, before taking on Canada at Exeter Chiefs’ Sandy Park a week later on Saturday, 19th September.

Their final Test sees them return to Allianz Stadium, Twickenham, to face the Black Ferns on Saturday, 26th September.

On playing at her home ground against the Wallaroos, Red Roses and Sale Sharks hooker, Amy Cokayne, said: “Since moving to Sale, I’ve really seen how deeply rooted women’s rugby is in the community; they absolutely love it. Our Red Roses matches in the north always have an incredible atmosphere with a lively crowd, and it’s fantastic that the North West will get the chance to host and experience one of our games.”

On playing for England at Sandy Park, Red Roses and Exeter Chiefs star Maddie Feaunati said: “As seen by games at Sandy Park during the World Cup and PWR, the Devon community really loves and gets behind women’s rugby. The Red Roses thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere when we come down to Exeter, and we can’t wait for another head-to-head with one of the best teams in the world.”

On facing the Black Ferns at Allianz Stadium, newly-appointed Red Roses captain and Trailfinders Women’s centre, Megan Jones, added: “We embrace these massive occasions and there is not a lot better than a Red Roses v Black Ferns fixture. It is always an incredible feeling to play against them but playing them at Allianz Stadium heightens that excitement even more.”
